Another year and another Eco-build. It seemed a little quieter than before? But then Excel is so much more spacious than Olympia.
Is it me or do I detect he Eco-ness slipping a bit. Apart from a sea of solar panels I saw many products that didn't look atall Eco.
However I did like the wood burner back boilers I saw. In British homes, where heat requirements are minimal this back boiler and highly controlled log burning stove does seem to economically hit a lot of buttons. I think I'm like everyone else in preferring a log burner - with a cosy window to some monster pellet burner in a cupboard somewhere. Pellet burners are often far too high an output for even a spacious domestic home - especially if it's well insulated and well orientated.
I was there to give a talk proposing a new take on the economics of large scale green development.
